The Zambian Government has adopted Kwa-Bhekilanga high school in South Africa in Johannesburg in the area called Alexandra.
This is part of the healing process following the recent xenophobic attacks in which 60 people were killed and thousands of foreign nationals made homeless.
Xenophobic attacks were targeted at people from different African living in that country such, as Zambians, Zimbabweans etc.
Zambian High Commissioner to South Africa, Lesley Mbula kicked off the project this Wednesday by donating the Zambian flag to the child president of Zambia at the School, Shiluba Baloyi.
Shiluba, a Grade 11 pupil at a school, which has also been sponsored by Senegal and Mauritius, will be helped by four child cabinet ministers in promoting the interests of Zambia at the school.
The pupils will learn about the Zambian history, Geography and culture.
Senegal and Mauritius are also represented by Child Presidents and child cabinet ministers who will also be performing similar duties.
It is hoped that through this project which will also be extended to other schools, South African Children will be made to appreciate that other countries played in the liberation of their country.
