EDUSPORT HOLDS SPORTS DAY FOR CHILDREN IN LUSAKA’S CHAWAMA COMPOUND

On Saturday 21 November 2009, Edusport held a sport tournament for children around Chawama compound.
The aim of the tournament was to bring boys and girls together and promote gender equality.

All this was done by having boys and girls play together in a football game.
Z kids’ news spoke to an official from Edusport and she explained that the event was organized only for children in Chawama community.
“We want to show teach the children that we are all equal and no one is better than the other”, she said.
And the kids spoken to told us that it is good to have both girls and boys play together because it helps them grow up knowing that they are equal.
“We are all the same. This is what we have decided to have the girls in our team, to show them that they are just like us”, the boys said.
We hope that is will help other children know that no one is better than the other.
